Signs it is too hard
The child gets frustrated, goes quiet for too long or refuses the activity. Reduce choices, show an example or return to objects they can hold.
Signs it is too easy
The child finishes too quickly and loses interest. Add one small variation such as a new color, new order or extra question.
Change one thing at a time
Do not change everything at once. Adjust the number of objects, type of question or length of activity one by one.
Praise the process
Use specific praise such as "you tried matching again" so children understand that effort matters too.
